Celebrating the Feast of the Tabernacles - MP3
The Feasts of the Lord are clearly the underpinnings of all of God's dealings with His people, Israel. The entire Hebrew economy and social calendar revolved around them, and the people were required - three times each year - to participate in these elaborate celebrations. For New Testament believers, we are told that "all that those things" are written for OUR admonition, upon whom the end of the age has come! (1 Cor 10:11). What, then, is the New Covenant spiritual reality behind these important spiritual celebrations? Of even greater import, what can we deduce from the fact that the first two Feasts were LITERALLY FULFILLED in New Testament history - Passover in the death and resurrection of Christ, and Pentecost in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit 50 days later - but the last and greatest of the Feasts (Tabernacles) has yet to be so fulfilled?!? Could this be that great spiritual event we've all been looking forward to that marks the climactic end of the age and brings in the great "latter rain" out-pouring of the Holy Spirit and the promised end-time harvest of souls?!?
